Tencent Games will shut down mobile gaming portal WeGame from September 2022

All games will be migrated to Tencent’s other platforms.

WeGame was launched in 2016 as a mobile gaming platform for iOS and Android devices. The platform featured a wide range of mobile games from third-party developers, including popular titles like “Clash of Kings” and “CrossFire: Legends”.

In recent years, Tencent Games has been consolidating its various game platforms into a single ecosystem. As part of this process, the company announced that it would be shutting down WeGame in September 2022. All games on the platform will be migrated to Tencent’s other gaming platforms, such as Weixin Game Center and QQ Game Center.

This move is in line with Tencent’s goal of creating a unified gaming ecosystem across all of its platforms. By consolidating its various game platforms, Tencent will be able to offer a more seamless and integrated gaming experience to its users.

Tencent Games is one of the world’s largest game publishers and developers. The company is best known for its hit mobile games “Honor of Kings” and “PUBG Mobile”. Tencent also owns a majority stake in Epic Games, the developer of “Fortnite”.
